HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! I know I did. Got some much needed rest from putting on the 2011 BENT-CON--which turned out to be a successful and worthwhile endeavor. 2 Days full of LGBT-celebration in Comic books, Film, Writing, Sci-fi/Fantasy and Horror. In all honesty, I had no idea what to expect bring it all together, nor from the actual convention itself. I also underestimated the focus and work required to making a convention work. (Boy, did I ever! LOL!) But I'm grateful for the experience, for the connections made and the community that manifested as a result of BENT-CON 2011.
There was, however, a part of me that was a little resentful initially--because my creative work had to take a backseat to the process and journey for BENT-CON. My love for MYTH has no bounds. And the Artist/Creative-Spirit in me was longing to get back to my process and imaginings with all-things MYTH. But this sacrifice--however temporary--was a necessary one.
BENT-CON will be the future access for not just my work--but countless other creative forces that spotlight an LGBT presence in their work. The 2011 show was a glimpse at the access of everything possible for BENT-CON. So, while the Artist in me wasn't exactly on-board at the beginning, by the time BENT-CON had come to a close I realized exactly what we had accomplished. We learned---*I* learned---A LOT during this process, especially, about myself.
I learned what I'm truly capable of: as a Leader, a Businessman, a Creative person--and most importantly (for me), as a Dreamer. Making dreams a reality is truly its own reward. And for me, I was given a glimpse of stretching those dreams to touch everything and anything I do that believe in. Making them not only possible in my mind, but affirming and tangible in my reality.
2012 is going to bring its share of challenges as I get to balance my creative world with my business one. I just finished an outline to a time-table for the changes I wish to introduce to Rated-Z Studios. Changes I'm both proud of and excited about.
My goal right now, is to MYTH book 3 (Part 1) available in digital form by February 1st and the printed version available by the end of February. So you all know--the book is mostly finished, save for the coloring and final edits. (Which I'll be working on once I've finished here.)
The changes to the site will also be addressed--as we're working towards making this site much more digital-friendly and adding some much needed features to keep you--the audience--interested in coming back for more. ;)
With these things said, I will end this by saying, more MYTH is certainly on the horizon--along with a few other welcomed surprises. :)
Best Wishes to you All, in this Brand New Year!
And as always...Thank *You* for Reading.

Hello Guys n' Gals!
I know, it's been a minute since I've grace you with any news here on the site. But I have a *very* good reason as to "why." That why being that I took on the task of making this year's Bent-Con much bigger than the last, in the hopes of making it a yearly destination in my home city of Los Angeles, for many years to come. I would *LOVE* for you all to take the time to visit the site, and if you're interested making your way to this year's show, which will have many more featured guests and exhibitors than you could dream possible(or maybe you could...) under the same space for two glorious days of exhibiting, panels, films and other goodness for you to enjoy!
Putting on Bent-Con is a HUGE undertaking to say the least, which is primarily why you haven't heard much from me in these parts in some time, since I'm running the show to make this convention one to remember in the foreseeable future. Fortunately, I have the benefit of not running this big ship of a Con all by myself. I've been able to gather some like-minded enthusiastic types on the same page with the vision for Bent-Con this year and beyond.
Bent-Con is also a nonprofit company, that needs the support and attention of fans like YOU to help put on this convention beyond even our own expectations. And I would personally appreciate any of you reading this if you wouldn't mind passing this information along about Bent-Con to anyone and everyone you think will listen, be intrigued or excited about participating or helping Bent-Con be the very best show it can be for 2011! Your support--through donations, volunteering, sharing and spreading the word about Bent-Con will certainly go a long way! And I hope to see that support manifest itself with your smiling and eager faces gracing the doors to this year's show!
So, click that embedded link above (or here) to find out more on what Bent-Con is all about!
So what's going on with MYTH?

Well, as I've mentioned above, taking on this task hasn't left me with a whole lot of time to devote to MYTH as I'd like. HOWEVER, I have been working on the art and stories for this series in-between my quieter moments just to feel like the Artist and creative spirit that I am! LOL! Putting on Bent-Con has given me a new perspective and work-philosophy as it relates to how I've been doing things at Rated-Z Studios up til now. And I'm proud to say that those things have been for the better, as I've got some things happening down the pipeline for this website and the overall production and exposure of the MYTH series.
What this means is more--of everything--something I may have hinted at months ago. But I now have the structure in place to truly do what I say I'm going to do. To that end this website will be undergoing some significant changes as a result to A.) make it more content accessible and B.) digital access to MYTH will be standard issue by that time. Doing these things gives me much more freedom and flexibility delivering EVERYTHING that I want to deliver to you my fantastic and wonderful readers!
So mark your calendars for Dec. 3 -- that's when we plan on not only having a newly formatted website, but also MYTH-related content start with MYTH #3 (part 1) which will be accessible as downloadable content,(and made available in printed form as a Bent-Con EXCLUSIVE, fyi...) as well as some other goodies--like a Lore section, for starters--that will be mainstays on this site.
The future of MYTH is something I'm looking forward to sharing with each and every one of you! I cannot tell you how excited the Rated-Z Team and I are at delivering so much more than we have up til now!
With that said...I look forward to seeing you all back here on Dec. 3rd!
Thanks for reading, Everyone!

E-BOOKS HAVE *FINALLY* ARRIVED AT RATED-Z.COM!
I am a *very* happy man right now. This has been a long time coming and while a little than originally planned ~ they have arrived nonetheless! While the store does require a bit more fleshing out, it'll serve its purpose for now. Going digital has been a process of learning for me and fortunately, I've had a few web-savvy individuals who have made this undertaking a lot more bearable along the way.
Providing e-content is another method of me getting my work out to you faster and more efficiently than I have up til now. There is still quite a bit of ground for me to cover here, and going this route will (for me) make things smoother moving forward as I will not be hinged on the need for printing costs and I can experiment with the future content that may (or may not) be available in print.
The site will be going through some very necessary changes visually (and possibly interface) in the coming months ahead. My hands are full not only getting MYTH #3 under-wraps, but also my venture with fulfilling Bent-Con as a nonprofit corporation to holding this year's and future conventions that are by and for LGBT comic and geekdom. (Think: "a Comic Con, only Gayer.") The latter I will share more on once all the paperwork has been sorted.
I hope you enjoy MYTH in its new, digital format and home here at Rated-Z Studios! MYTH #3 is about 6 pages from completion, and I will be making an announcement here once Part One, will be available for download along with another digital exclusive special for your reading consumption.
Thanks all for your continued support and enthusiasm for MYTH!
And as always...
Thank you, for reading.

Hey Gang! Quick update before I hit my pillow for some much needed "zzzzzz's." I'm heading to Seattle later today for this weekend's Emerald City Comic Con. It's my 1st visit to Seattle in well over 10 years, and my 1st official comic-con in the wonderful city. So, if you happen to be attending, please come by the Prism Comics booth and say "hello!" I'll be on hand with both MYTH books along with a few exclusive Convention-Only Goodies for your eager consumption, LOL!
I was also hoping to unveil MYTH in digital form this weekend as well, but we ran into a final snag, that until it's corrected will make download purchases a big problem. So, until it's properly addressed I'll have to post-pone it for now. :(
On the upside, I do know the issue can and will be addressed in due course, so it won't be much longer, which is just as well, since I'm hoping to make Part 1 of MYTH Book 3 available by then as well!
All in all, March is shaping up to be quite an exciting time for me with Rated-Z Studios! More updates and news to come upon my return next week. Time for me to hit the hay!
Cheer everyone! And as always...
Thank you for reading!

Hey there, good people! :)
First off, Happy 2011 to all of you!
Secondly, I *know* I've been tardy here of late! LOL! The new year has brought many, many changes for me (all of them good) and I knew I needed to "check in" with all of you about--well, EVERYTHING! LOL!
The art you see is currently the current working cover for the next MYTH installment: Act III ~ "Changes" that I am still in production completing. Running this creative ship on my own isn't always easy or as simple as I sometimes wish it were. But there it is. Reality has had a funny way of interrupting my best laid plans and intentions. Which I cringe at everytime I say "x, y and z" are going to happen next and then "x, y and z" never follows through as intended.
So, to ease your thoughts and questions about what *is* happening, I thought I'd share them right here, right now.
I am working on the finished art for MYTH #3, as I right this. Fact. Truth. Beyond a reason of a doubt.
But I am also working on the art duties for a MYTH side-story, called "The Mistake" as well as Lore-Art and some Beefcake "smut" (I use this term quite lovingly, btw) for a series of prints to add to my portfolio and options for print later on.
Why am I working on so many different projects outside of the story, I'm telling with MYTH?
Well, I've finally gotten most of the bells and whistles in place to really step up what I make available in the form of digital content. A lot of doors and opportunities have opened up as a result of this new option seems to be like the right step/direction I need to move towards with Rated-Z Studios. So, the eBook thing is totally in the cards. Fact. Truth. Beyond a reason of a doubt. LOL!
I'm just waiting for certain security/data features to be tested and measured accordingly before jumping in with both feet. (I think we're about 80% along at this point.) What this means for me is greater flexibility for what I offer as direct digital media vs. print media.
But this doesn't mean I'm giving up printed media all together. (I'm not, MYTH will still ultimately be offered in printed form.) Reality however, is a strong motivator to push in this direction since the $$$ of getting my work in print has yet to be cost effective for me until I get to a point where I am selling more books.
I can't create on an empty stomach (immortality hasn't worked out so far...>_>), so here I am, coming up with alternative solutions that I am QUITE excited to make available once everything is in place.
But what about those Lore episodes, I promised?
They will be along once I've firmly mapped out a game plan that works for what I'm living into. I didn't (and still don't) want to start putting out random bits of Lore once a week, with nothing else in place to further develop or share on a consistent basis.
And that, my friends is everything to me: Intention.
So, consider this an official "check-in." You all deserve the very best from me in terms of the story and characters you all have a love for as well as I do. I'll have a much better handle on where I'm at by the end of March. Fact. Truth...well, you already know the rest. ;)
I am excited for everything that's coming up here at Rated-Z Studios. I will give you all periodic "updates" via my Blog here and tweets as I become clear on what, when and how.
Thank you all for your continued interest (I appreciate those e-mails!), I for my part will continue to communicate with all of you, just as I have with this update. ^_^
Thanks for Reading, Everyone.
~Z.
